So let’s jump right into it, where are my oily to combination skin girls at??? I generally have combination skin but lately my skin has been a bit more on the oily side. I have always had a hard time trying to find a drug store foundation that actually lasts most of the day on my skin and gives me flawless look. I found that a lot of them would oxidize on me after about an hour or start to look patchy/ cakey after applying ; But over the past year drug store foundations have really stepped up their game ! (which makes me and my wallet very happy, Tysm)

Since I have been more on the oily side lately I have been very into Matte foundations, not only do they last a lot longer on my skin they don’t make me look like a greasy hotdog by the end of the day. I have been testing out two Matte foundations: L’oreal Infallible Pro Matte and Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless. I figured why not do a comparison and review of each.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless

Price: $7.99 (1.0 fl. oz.)

Claim :

• Contains genius blurring micro-powders that erase pores and absorb oil for a naturally matte and poreless-looking finish

Pros:

• Great color range 24 shades to choose from
• affordable
• Sleek packaging
• Blends beautifully into the skin
• Initially gives a matte finish
• Doesn’t settle in fine lines
• Medium to Full coverage , very buildable
• Doesn’t oxidize

Cons:

• If you are oily you will need to touch up throughout the day
• Doesn’t minimize pores
• Watery consistency
• Pour out top, No pump
• Best when used with matte and poreless powder

Overall : For the price this is great I just wish it has a longer staying power , since I am oily I am touching up a few times a day. It does work better when paired with its preferred powder. I don’t find that it minimizes my pores but I also don’t find that it enhances them either. I do really like the matte finish and the coverage this foundation provides.

• L’oreal Infallible Pro Matte

Price: $12.99 (1.0 fl. oz.)

Claim: Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation, air-light texture with a demi-matte finish.Contains Shine Defy Blotting Spheres that act like blotting paper to mimic makeup artist gesture, instantly absorbing sweat and oil without disturbing color pigments.

Pros:

• Long wearing and light weight
• Medium to Full coverage
• Oil control
• Smooth and blendable application
• Little goes along way
• Buildable
• Flawless finish
• Doesn’t oxidize

Cons:

• Not as big of a color selection
• Clings to dry patches

Overall: Pretty amazing for a drug store foundation, I was very impressed. This foundation looks great on my skin all day long I usually wont even touch up unless I have something going on after work (so after about 12 hours). I’m not sure about the whole 24 HR claim but 12 hours is pretty amazing if you ask me . Its very blendable and really keeps me looking as matte as an oily girl can. Although this says Demi matte finish I would say this is more of a matte finish. I do find that if I am having a breakout or a problem area that is dry this can tend to cling to that area, but over all a fantastic drug store foundation !!

L’oreal Infallible Pro Matte VS Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless

L’oreal Infallible Pro Matte : As shown above it is thicker in consistency and has a yellow undertone to it, which is great for my skin tone . For a while I felt like the drug store mostly carried foundations that had a pinky undertones. It feels very light on the skin but has great coverage and uses less product to build up.

• More coverage with less product
• Longer wearing
• Looks better in photos
• Do not need to set

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless : Very watery compared to the Pro matte and is a neutral tone. The great thing about this foundation is they offer such a wide range of colors you are sure to find your tone. This also feels light on the skin but it dries really fast so you need to be quick when applying. This looks best when you set it with the matte and powerless powder or any setting powder.

• Looks good in photos

THE VERDICT:

For me the Winner is L’oreal Infallible Pro Matte ! It is worth the $12.99 price and usually you can get it on sale I think I paid $9.99 for mine. Overall it beats out the Fit Me foundation in all areas. If you are back and forth between the two I could pick L’Oreal. However I do think the Maybelline foundation is good for the low price tag and maybe a better option if you have dry skin and want a matte finish.

L’oreal Infallible Pro Matte has my heart and in my opinion is one of the best drug store foundations for those with combo to oily skin!!!

In this photo I actually mixed both of them together and I loved the way it turned out ! So now I find myself just mixing both together more often.
