  • The secondary display was working until it got a Windows* update. After the update, the external monitor no longer show the display.
  • The system was working but after driver update the system does not recognized the second monitor.
Resolution

The driver may have been corrupted during the update process and needs to be reinstalled.

  1. Uninstall the graphics driver. Visit this link for more information.
  2. Download and install the latest Intel® HD Graphics driver provided by the laptop manufacturer. This driver has been customized, tested and validated to run properly with your laptop. Visit this link to get the support site of system manufacturers.

As a last resort you may also test with our latest generic graphics driver from Download Center. This is an alternative driver and can be used only if the customized driver from original equipment manufacturer (OEM) has issues.
Do not useadapters on the video cables. Connection needs tobestraight. HDMI to HDMI, VGA to VGA, etc.
Check the laptop form factor. It'spossible that the graphics controller allows the multi-display but the laptop does not have more than 1 video output.
