Adidas ultra boost all black review năm 2024

Hey what’s going on guys, it’s Nigel here with Honest Soles. Today, I’m going to review the classic Adidas Ultra Boost 4.0. As a sneaker enthusiast, I can never neglect this sneaker as it is one of the best sneaker series to be released. I personally own a couple pairs of these and have used them for about a year now so I hope I’m able to give you a fair review, without all the hype.

But before we get started, let me give you guys a brief introduction of the Adidas Ultra Boost!

Adidas first revealed the revolutionary Boost midsole technology back in 2013. At that time, there wasn’t really much of a hype yet…. until the Ultra Boost was later released in 2015.

And BOOM, the hype took off.

Crowned as ‘The Best Running Shoe Ever’, the Adidas Ultra Boost got many forming lines at stores and its popularity just keeps raging. Over the years, it has transformed from a running shoe to more of a lifestyle sneaker. Fast forward to late 2017, the forth version of the Adidas Ultra Boost was released.

The Adidas Ultra Boost 4.0 boasts a variety of designs and colourways that got many giving in to their temptations. So, if you’re contemplating whether or not to get a pair, hold up and read on to see if this sneaker is suitable for you.

Without further ado, here’s my honest review on the Adidas Ultra Boost 4.0!

1. Features

Adidas Ultra Boost 4.0 Grey Two

Lets start off with the features. The key difference between the 4.0 version and the previous versions is the primeknit upper pattern. Other than that, not much have changed. It still has great breathability thanks to these primeknit upper, which makes them good for running long distance without sweating your feets off. I find them real stretchy too, which makes walking in them hella comfortable!

Next up is the famous boost midsole. I find that the midsole gives me just the right amount of bounce for running so there isn’t too much pressure on my ankles and knees. However, do note that the midsole gets yellow over time which could be a bit of a turn off. I personally use white acrylic paint pen to paint the midsole so as to keep them white and looking fresh. BUT, if you’re getting an Ultra Boost with a black boost midsole (like what I have above), then you won’t have to worry about yellowing midsoles!

The Continental™ Rubber outsole provides decent grip when running/walking but it feels thinner than other shoes. So if you’re using it for running, keep in mind that the outsole may wear out faster than average, causing less traction. See the images below for a comparison between outsoles after 1 year of use.

Lastly, the padding on the collar provides great cushioning as always, keeping your ankles locked in place while maintaining great comfort. Not to exaggerate here, but it literally feels like pillows hugging your ankles.

2. Comfort

I’m going to make a bold statement here — The Adidas Ultra Boost sneakers are hands down the most comfortable shoes I’ve worn. Whether it is for running or casual walking, it feels amazing to walk on these. P.S. I’m saying this as a casual runner (a pretty slow one in fact). Whether or not it is ‘The Best Running Shoe Ever’, I’ll let you runners decide.

3. Usability/Style

Despite being originally designed as a running shoe, the Adidas Ultra Boost is widely used as a lifestyle sneaker as well. Over the years, Adidas has released countless colourways and designs to fit every consumers’ taste. From the classic triple black colourway (my favourite) to bolder designs like the multicolour ones, the Ultra Boost offers great style choices. As a casual runner myself, I love that it is a dual-purpose sneaker! Below are a few personal on-feet shots! (I hope I don’t look too bad in them!)

4. Sizing

The Adidas Ultra Boost 4.0 runs true to size. For comparison, I wear the same size for Adidas Pure Boost and Stan Smith but half size down from my Nike Mariah Flyknit Racer.

5. Cost

The Adidas Ultra Boost 4.0 carries a hefty price tag of USD$180 for retail but as of this moment I’m writing this review, you could probably get it anywhere between $120 — $170 from various retailers or even on Amazon. For a sneaker that meets both my lifestyle and running needs, and is SO INCREDIBLY COMFORTABLE, I find it at a reasonable price.

6. Final Words

I absolutely love the Adidas Ultra Boost 4.0 and would recommend you grab a pair too. Yes, the price is higher than average but for what it offers, I promise it will be worth your every penny. Besides, many retailers sometimes offer them at huge discount, up to 50% off. So if cost is your concern, keep a lookout for these deals and grab them when they come. P.S. I’m working on a ‘deals’ section on my site which will include many not-to-be-missed deals so stay tuned!!

So what do you think? Cop or drop? Let me know in the comment’s section below!

And if you have any questions, leave them down below as well. I’ll be more than happy to help!

As always, lets spread the sneaker passion from one sole to another!
