Group decision support system (GDSS) technology is designed to directly impact and change the behavior of groups to improve group effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction, and has been studied for more than two decades by researchers. However, as a tool, it is appropriate for use in situations with certain characteristics and is not useful in others. This chapter delineates and discusses some of the key parameters of this approach based on a research model. Parameters are classified based on whether they are related to the technology, group, task, or context. Their benefits for GDSS outcomes are discussed to provide insight into the group decision-making process. Show

What is a key capability of a decision support system quizlet?A DSS provides rapid access to information, handles large amounts of data from different sources, provides report and presentation flexibility, offers both textual and graphical orientation, supports drill-down analysis, and performs complex, sophisticated analyses.
What is a group decision support system quizlet?Group decision-support systems (GDSS) specialized systems that provide a group electronic environment in which managers and teams are able to collectively make decisions and design solutions for unstructured and semistructured problems.
What is the role of group decision support system?Group decision support system (GDSS) technology supports project collaboration through the enhancement of digital communication with various tools and resources. These types of programs are used to support customized projects requiring group work, input to a group and various types of meeting protocols.
