What Happens to My Family Couples

Cha Soon Bong

As I've stated before, Cha Soon Bong really needed a backbone when it came to his ADULT children but man he seriously took charge and it was about time he stopped letting them take advantage of his kindness. I wasn't expecting him to sue his children though nor use his daughter's ex-boyfriend who is a lawyer as his representative like that should be an iconic moment. The way he went about the idea was pure genius and if it made his children straighten their act then good for him. It was obvious something terrible was going to happen to our loving father since the first episode and his death scene sent chills down my spine. Cha Soon Bong is truly the "world's best father" and he wanted nothing more than to see his children's happiness. I will always remember this character as a kind and humble man who always put his family first.

Cha Soon Geum

There is honestly nothing to hate about this character. Cha Soon Geum comes off as very strong-willed and is never afraid to run her month when it comes to protecting her family in which I love the most about her. She treats her niece and nephews like they are her own children and helped raise them to the best human beings. Not to mention, her love for her brother was unconditional and they were truly each other's rock and best friend.

What Happens to My Family Couples

Cha Kang Shim

I didn't really care for Kang Shim in the beginning but her character soon later grew on me. She came off as very hypocritical and an extreme workaholic who treated her Boss/Chairmman more like a father than her ACTUAL father. However, I think it's obvious to say she is definitely a daddy's girl even though she is the oldest out of the Cha siblings. If I'm being honest I wasn't all for her marrying Tae Joo (and making up a fake pregnancy) just because she wanted her father to walk her down the aisle before his death. The relationship was too fast paced for me even though the love between Kang Shim and Tae Joo was there.

Moon Tae Joo

I'm personally not a fan of Moon Tae Joo because his personality was too over the top for me. I had a really hard time with his terrible temper in the beginning but it soon settles down once he starts realizing his feelings. I'm not going to lie he made me laugh quite a bit and he is probably the funniest character in this drama but as whole he just wasn't doing it for me. I also wasn't feeling the chemistry between Tae Joo and Kang Shim and I hate to say it but I prefer her with the ex-boyfriend Lawyer Byun.

What Happens to My Family Couples

Cha Kang Jae

Kang Jae... the character who I... NO who I'm sure everyone despised for a long time. I really couldn't stand his harsh attitude and I never thought I get to see his redeeming qualities even though nothing can make up for what he did so let's just say he was bad at expressing his emotions. It's hard to believe that Kang Jae use to be shy and sweet but I guess anything is possible since he did change his ways towards the end. It was sad when he kept blaming himself for his father's sickness and that was the only time I ever gave Kang Jae any sympathy. Even if your a doctor doesn't mean you can stop someone from dying it's honestly how the world works.

Kwon Hyo Jin

I surprisingly enjoyed Kwon Hyo Jin for the most part. She had her moments of being bratty, whiny, and annoying (especially when it came to her problem with Seo Wool) but once you look past that she actually fits right into the Cha family perfectly and honestly the family wouldn't be complete without her. Kang Jae and Hyo Jin brought the best qualities out of each other despite their relationship starting off in the worst way possible.

What Happens to My Family Couples

Cha Dal Bong

Dal Bong my baby boy who resembles his father Cha Soon Bong in both personality and traits is my favorite from the Cha family. He might be the youngest which of course makes him out to be very immature and everyone treated him like a kid who couldn't fend for himself. When all he needed was a boost of confidence since that is what he struggled with the most when it came to learning to how express himself as a person. I'm happy to say Dal Bong proved himself worthy as a man and for someone who has a dream of running their father's tofu shop makes them a speical character in my eyes.

Kang Seo Wool

I love Kang Seo Wool, she was a delight to watch. The country bumpkin who only had plans to marry a guy she meant one time but ended up being the glue who pretty much held the Cha family together with her outgoing spirit. Seo Wool might have been naive at first but she brought nothing but positive energy to the Cha family and I'm glad she finally became one of them since it was about time for Dal Bong to propose. I adore them as a couple and I miss my Dal Bong and Seo Wool already!

Yoon Eun Ho

Overall I liked Yoon Eun Ho (never got second lead syndrome though) even though towards the end I wanted to smack him right upside the head for interfering in the food competition due to personal feelings and it made him look real petty. I feel like he used his controlling mother as an excuse for his actions but when it comes to his own freedom Eun Ho should know responsibility is key. Other than that I can say he is a good person and I'm sure he learned from his mistakes plus the friendship he built with Dal Bong and Seo Wool later on was nice to see.

What Happens to My Family Couples

I made it through my first 50+ episodes K-Drama and I didn't think it was going to be possible since 53 episodes is a lot but this cast right here is SUPERIOR and made it worth every minute. Despite being frustrated with practically all of the characters I eventually grew to enjoy their presences because without a single one of them "What Happens to My Family?" wouldn't feel the same. I can't tell you how many times I laughed and cried along with the cast but it was a ridiculous amount. However, I felt like I was a part of the family and that is the nice thing about this drama since you can easily connect with the characters. The romance was a key factor I was looking for in the beginning but I finished with a heavy heart and knowledge of basic family values. I never once found myself getting bored (which is surprising), the acting didn't disappoint, the pace of the drama was perfect, and it had no unnecessary scenes. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I was and everyone should give this drama a chance especially if you're looking for something heartwarming and family related.
