Phân biệt Vendor và Supplier dựa trên các tiêu chí sau đây
Có thể thấy thì Vendor hay Supplier đều có vai trò trung gian của chuỗi cung ứng. Tuy nhiên, sự khác biệt chính của Vendor và Supplier nằm ở mục đích bán hàng. Khi hàng hóa được bán cho bên khác với mục đích bán lại thì sẽ được gọi là Supplier, còn hàng hóa trực tiếp cho người tiêu dùng cuối thì gọi là vendor. Tiếp thị đến một Vendor không giống như cách tiếp thị đến công chúng với hi vọng thu hút khách hàng thông thường.
