Who will host Champions League Final 2024?

The UEFA Executive Committee decided on Friday that the Turkish city of Istanbul will host the 2023 Champions League final.

Due to the relocation of the 2021 Champions League final from Istanbul to Porto, it was decided to award the 2023 Champions League final to the Turkish city of Istanbul's Atatürk Olympic Stadium. In addition, the kick-off event for the European club season - which includes the group stage draws for the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League - will take place in Istanbul at the end of August for both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.

On the other hand, the 2023 Champions League final, originally scheduled to be held in Munich, Germany, will be moved to 2025. Wembley Stadium will retain the right to host the 2024 Champions League final. Finally, Dublin will host the Europa League final in 2024, while Bilbao will host the women's Champions League final in 2024 and the Europa League final in 2025.

UEFA are reportedly assessing the suitability of New York as a host for the 2024 Champions League final.

The showpiece finale for the tournament has never been held outside of Europe but the Morning Consult report that talks are ongoing between UEFA and commercial partners about holding it in the United States in four seasons time.

Liverpool are the reigning champions after they lifted the famous trophy inside Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano stadium back in June.

The Champions League finale could be moved over to New York by UEFA for the 2024 final

The report goes on to add that the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey has been mooted as the preferred venue.

Negotiations are said to be at an early stage but that both commercial partners and those familiar with the talks have not been shy in revealing their lofty ambitions.

It has already been revealed that Munich is the host city for the 2022 final while London will be the venue for the 2023 final.

The MetLife stadium has been floated as a potential destination if it goes to the United States

Previous attempts to hold competitive matches across the Atlantic have been met with criticism and resistance but this would represent a major landmark if it was successful.

A person familiar with the negotiations says Champions League broadcasts in the US will move from Turner to CBS beginning with the 2021-22 season.

The agreement has not yet been announced by UEFA but the three-year deal will begin in August 2021.

Turner is in its second season airing the Champions League on TNT, but most of the matches through the round of 16 are on Bleacher Report's streaming package.

Univision will retain the US rights for Spanish-language broadcasts. CBS and Univision will pay $140million a season, an increase from the $100m in the current Turner/Univision deal.

Last year's final between Liverpool and Tottenham averaged 1.508m viewers on TNT. The total was down from the 2.004m that watched the 2018 final on Fox.

Wembley Stadium will host the Champions League final in 2024, UEFA has announced.

The decision to award Wembley the final in three years time comes days after the national stadium suffered a severe security breach during the Euro 2020 final, which saw over five thousand ticketless hooligans force their way into the concourses and take their spots among empty seats and corridors inside the ground.

The breach left the FA red-faced before being charged by UEFA over the chaotic scenes that marred Sunday's showpiece.

The Turkish venue had been due to stage the match in 2020 and 2021 but UEFA was forced to make changes in both years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
