Nursing concept analysis topics

Help... I recently completed a phenomenon of interest paper Visitation Effects on Patients in Critical Care; NOW I need a concept analysis topic from that POI. Any suggestions?? Thanks & Please

Could you write about the conclusion or what you found out? That would make it easier to think about the concept. Why did you chose visitation effects and what happened? Did they become more calm as evidenced by vitalsign change or mental status change? Or did they get more agitated?

Is there any way you can link any of the effects you looked at to another hot topic in nursing like quality of care, value-based care, patient safety?

My current position as a CCU nurse, we still have restricted visitation but are going to open in the months to come. I wanted to look at open visitation and patient outcomes, were they more calm or agitated.

on the last page it talks about patient-centered care. There are some more resources that you can look at.

I think good angles are patient-centered care as the overall idea / concept because that is the favored approach to care [besides value-based care haha]. They also talk about "healing environment" and that is something that can be explored. What about autonomy and wishes - would the patient WANT the family 24/7?

Perhaps it is not so much about what we can measure and see but more about a concept that we should uphold even or especially when patients are at their worst? Is patient-centered care the RIGHT thing to do?

Most critical care areas here have 24/7 access but will ask the family to step out for report or some care. Some newly designed ones had in mind that family would want to be with their loved one in hard times also at night and put pull out chairs close or in the room. Some have waiting areas directly attached to the room so it is easier to step in and out of the room.

In my experience from working in critical care [granted that was like 10 years ago but for 9 years long] is that some calm down but some get really agitated when they are confused or want to talk and are misunderstood/delirium etc..

It can bring comfort to the family when they know that they can visit at any time especially when they work or have other obligations [children, caretaking...].
