HP laptop electric shock

Have you tried plugging it into another outlet? Are you having any problems with shocks from other appliances [hair dryer, etc.] in the house. It could be a ground problem on the outlet or it may be a problem with the adapter. It could also be that the neutral in the outlet has a slight voltage on it which is not normal and in which case an electrician should check it. Can you try another adapter to see if the problem still exists? That would at least rule out or confirm the adapter as the source. Of course it could also be a problem in the laptop such as the motherboard or the DC jack.
