I very, very highly recommend TeamViewer. Been using their software for years, never had a problem with it, never had a drop, etc. Only drawback is their software can be pricey on a network rollout.

Yes, it's amazing to see LMI keeps increasing its price year after year.... Tens of thousands of MSPs have migrated from LMI to Splashtop Remote Support [Basic, Plus, and Premium] in the past several years, and enjoy tremendous cost saving for similar feature sets [guaranteed at least 50% cost saving.]. Please give Splashtop a free test drive.

Does it allow you to click on the UAC boxes? [so you can do unattended installs for users?]

I've only used LogMeIn and TeamViewer, but I like both. If you are moving on from LMI, TeamViewer is a solid choice IMO.

We've been using LogMeIn for years. However they are changing their licensing and the Basic is no longer being offered. It's increasing our renewal 2 1/2 times.

I'm considering other solutions like Team Viewer... What else is out there that does a great job for a reasonable price?

TeamViewer is going to be your best option based off of the information you've given us.

There's also the freebie Chrome Remote Desktop for the interim.

Heyamurphy2, I would recommend checking out ConnectWise Control. They offer what you're looking for as well as cross-platform compatibility, secure access, and flexible plans. Best part in my opinion, is you can get a free trial to test it out beforehand! I hope you take a look into it, if you have any questions or want to chat more about their features please feel free to message me!

We used TightVNC and RealVNC at my last job and love it. Super lightweight. We used it exclusively for users within our network [at various locations around the country], but it was never an issue because if a user was off our network [i.e. working from home] we just had them VPN in first.

TightVNC is free; RealVNC you need to purchase. We'd only needed RealVNC for a couple machines, for our old 32-bit XP machines; we used TightVNC for everything else, and stopped using RealVNC when we finally moved to all Win7 64-bit.

We use Teamviewer and have been very happy with it. I wasn't thrilled when they went to a subscription model, but we negotiated something workable.

We use log me in for laptops, predominantly for our traveling sales reps. We have DameWare remote control we use for inside the network. Log me in caught us unawares for the price increase and we had to cut our # of supported devices back. We will be moving to something else before we have to renew again.

We use the remote tool provided with the Comodo platform for the most part. I have used Team Viewer and TightVNC here and there. Haven't had any issues with either although Team Viewer is a little easier to just setup and go in my opinion.

Internally on servers we use TightVNC and this is really the best.

We have a license for TeamViwer 10 and we are holding on to that for dear life. After that TeamViewer can go shove it. Far too expensive.

These companies get greedy, they lose. Simples.

We have been using also Desktop Sharing on Skype for Business, and this works quite well.

You would think for such a simple program, with very little costs, an established business would just sit back and rake the $$ in, but no, they had to shoot themselves in the foot by being greedy.

Hummm. I don't think I've ever seen this question asked on Spiceworks before. ;-]

You should make this a poll. Personally we use Windows RDP. Built-in to every machine and easy to use. Works fine for our purposes, obviously YMMV. Good luck!

I have used Remote Utilities for a couple of years now and have been extremely happy for the price. I think like $500/tech one time. has great multiple monitor support, remote install, command line, chat...the list goes on.

We use Goverlanourselves. Lots of options, you can click on all the UAC boxes and have the option to use RDP or a "take over" where the user can see everything you are doing for those "you can fix it yourself moments" maybeRaul Ortiz [Goverlan]can help you out? Goverlan also has a way for you to connect to users off your network and has a pretty awesome reporting features in the management console too...

We have been using LMI for years. I do not think we have any intention of moving from LMI. The cost has not overrun the budget yet so we haven't felt a need.

My preferred tool for remote support for domain-joined workstations/servers is GoverLan. There is a server for remote users to connect to if they don't have VPN [which then allows you to access their workstations] and for on-prem it integrates with AD. It has remote admin tools such as remote control [take over a machine's session, including remote sessions or console], remote CMD [you can run commands on workstations without logging in or taking over the session], remote task manager, remote service manager, and MANY other tools.

We use the automation included to reboot the entire network from an admin workstation, power up/down or restart PCs, you name it.

For server remote access, I use Remote Desktop Manager.

Connectwise, formally screenconnect has a pay as you go subscription model which we found very useful as our help desk often has employee surges.
